The latest series of IDC connectors, the XUNLIAN2, XUNLIAN3, and XUNLIAN4 connectors, are built on the basis of successful connector's design, shape, color-coded cap concepts, and element technology. They are of a new solvent resistant plastic construction. In addition, the Series 2 Connectors incorporate full wire range capability, increased port size to accommodate up to 082" (2.08 mm) insulation sizes.

The XUNLIAN2 Connector for general butt splicing
The XUNLIAN2 Connector accepts any two or three solid copper conductor combinations of 19-26 AWG (0.9mm -0.4 mm) air core or filled cable with a maximum insulation O.D. of 082"(2.08 mm). The wires of different wire gauges can be joined by it. Its three ports accept two or three conductors for butt splicing. Similar to most IDC connectors, the XUNLIAN2 is filled with a sealant for moisture resistance. The XUNLIAN2 is available in a dry version, the XUNLIAN2-D.

The XUNLIAN3 Connector for smaller splice bundles
About half the size of the XUNLIAN3 Connector can handle a higher pair count cable and minimize the splicing bundle O.D. The XUNLIAN3's two ports accept any two solid copper conductor combinations of 19-26 AWG (0.9 mm- 0.4 mm) filled or air core cable with a maximum insulation O.D. of .082"(2.08 mm). The wires in different wire gauges also can be joined. The connections are insulated by factory inserted sealant, which can protect against corrosion, and seal out moisture. Like the XUNLIAN2, the XUNLIAN3 is available in a dry version, the XUNLIAN3-D.

The XUNLIAN4 Connector for fast tap splicing
Due to pre-crimp feature of this compact bridging connector, the tap splicing time is greatly saved. Before the crimp is completed, the conductor can be prevented from slipping out of the connector by positioning the XUNLIAN4 on the conductor and pre-crimping. And a tap wire entry port molded from a thin membrane also can be used to secure the tap wire. Like other IDC connectors, a factory-installed sealant insulates against corrosion, and seals out moisture. A dry version, the XUNLIAN4-D, is also available.
For XUNLIAN4, tapping directly onto an existing conductor is allowed, without interrupting service. In ready access closures, cutting cable pairs, opening pairs, or piecing out wires can be avoided by XUNLIAN4. This insulation displacement connector accepts 19-26 AWG (0.9 mm -0.4 mm) plastic-, paper-, or pulp insulated solid copper wire with a maximum O.D. of .082'' (2.08 mm).The wires of different wire gauges can be joined.
